Set within the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve,  Amani is a contemporary safari lodge surrounded by the natural beauty of the Greater Kruger. Sweeping bushveld vistas, generous spaces and thoughtful design create an experience that is both refined and deeply connected to nature. The Klaserie Private Nature Reserve was established in 1972 as part of the greater Kruger National Park. It is one of the largest private reserves in South Africa, being 60,000 hectares (or 148,000 acres).

This vast tract of preserved land has some beautiful trees and riverine vegetation near the magnificent Klaserie River. It has an open fenceless border to the Kruger National Park in the north, and the Timbavati to the south-east.

Simbavati Amani offers seven luxuriously spacious Riverbed Suites, each accommodating two guests. Beds can be made up as one super king-sized bed or two three-quarter twin beds. Each suite has an en-suite bathroom with a freestanding bathtub, indoor and outdoor showers, and a private toilet. The private decked terrace features a heated plunge pool overlooking a busy watering hole. Each suite also has a fully stocked bar, tea and coffee station, and a selection of snacks.

The interleading Family Suite provides comfortable, intentionally designed accommodation with direct access to the lodge’s shared facilities. This suite features a private decked terrace overlooking the natural and landscaped gardens, as well as a minibar, tea and coffee station, and snacks.

Two guided game drives are offered daily, scheduled at the guests’ leisure. Guides provide insight into the workings of the bushveld, the traits of the animals seen on the drive and the diverse terrain and plant life, varying from flat planes to rocky outcrops and hilly landscapes. The Klaserie Drift Safari Camps are home to a wide variety of predators, including lion, leopard, smaller cats, spotted hyenas, jackals and wild dogs. As such, the thrill of witnessing a kill looms around every corner. Buffalo, rhino, hippo, giraffe, elephant, a variety of buck, an array of birdlife, baboons, monkeys, and mongooses can be spotted daily – to name but a few.
