What to Expect
All our cottages have a large (6 m2) refreshing plunge pool, with a design that’s unique to the area; it has three levels. Apart from the “shoulder height” level and the level that’s perfect to sit, it also has a level that’s a mere 15cm deep. It measures 2 m2 , so this level is perfect for very young kids to play in (not unattended, obviously), or for you to lay down in. But apart from that, this level also makes our pool heat up faster in the sunlight, which means our pool has less of that “cold sting” in spring and fall.
We provide beach towels, no need to bring those!
Highlights
Our cottage bathrooms have a large indoor walk-in shower with a view towards the mountains. But in all but the coldest days you can also enjoy your outside (rain-)shower. Built with a little wink at the old bucket showers …but don’t worry; ours have hot water.
All our beds are king size with extra length, available in a double bed or two separate single beds setup. And all have high quality mattresses. Our beds are under large mosquito nets hanging from the ceiling.
Your bedroom is air conditioned, and we use the softest percale high-quality hypoallergenic bed linen. We use mattress protectors as well as pillow protectors.
Our cottages have a dining table indoors, right next to the kitchen counter. So on a windy day or a cold morning, you can always enjoy your meal indoors. However, there’s also a dining table outside, in the shade, under a canvas sheet, and we’re sure you’ll be using that one the most. It can even be used when it rains! Both dining areas have mountain views.
For any traveler, there’s nothing as annoying as finding out something’s missing in the kitchen. It’s not as if you can pack Champagne glasses or braai utensils in your suitcase, right? It should all be there!
We hear you! And so we made sure that our kitchens are as complete as your kitchen at home. A microwave, a cooking plate with four heaters, a water kettle, a toaster… all appliances you need are there. The list also includes a large fridge/freezer combo, and a dish washer. Because seriously; who wants to do dishes on holiday? The available cutlery and crockery is rather extensive as well. Yes of course there’s Champagne glasses and an ice bucket!
All rooms also have the following included; salt, pepper, 15 liter of drinking water, coffee/tea station with sugar and milk, dishwasher liquid, broom, dust pan, dish cloths and tea towels.
There’s so much to see and do in the Hoedspruit lowveld area and the highveld. If you want to experience it all, you’ll have to come back a few times. Or stay with us for a month!

Coming from oversees and don’t feel like self-driving? No problem! We can come pick you up, and drop you off, at all nearest airports. Or we can arrange transfers to/from any lodge or any place in South-Africa.
Note that our Kruger National Park trips are of the highest standard. You can opt between a closed (SUV) or open safari vehicle (OSV). The owners as well as the guides working for Kruger Cliffs are all FGASA-certified guides with at least 5 years of big-5 experience in the bush.
