Children over the age of six are welcome at Varty Camp and with some of the chalets inter-leading, Varty Camp is perfect for families.
Varty Camp boasts eight chalets and two superior chalets. The decor harmonizes with the earth-toned aesthetics of the owners’ private homes, reflecting their enduring affinity with the natural world. Each room features a private swimming pool, surrounded by wooden decks that provide scenic views of the riverine bush. The living areas are elevated above the ground and shaded by a canopy of trees. Varty Camp exudes a charmingly unpretentious ambiance, with a strong focus on family heritage, ensuring that children always find a welcoming place at Varty Camp.
Varty Camp is also the location of the original Sparta Hunting Camp, our boutique, the Cardio Vascular Room, Massage Treatment Room, and our Wine Cellar. Guests from all camps are encouraged to take advantage of these facilities.

We offer two superior chalets at Londolozi Varty Camp, each featuring private swimming pools and thatched salas, set against the backdrop of timber decks that provide scenic views of the riverine bush. These living spaces are elevated and shaded under a cathedral of trees, cultivating an inviting, down-to-earth atmosphere. The camp’s strong commitment to family heritage ensures that children always find a warm and welcoming place at Varty Camp.
Game drives at Londolozi are taken by professional, passionate and knowledgeable rangers and trackers, who amongst them have a wealth of 350 years of experience. With over 15 000 hectares of traversing wilderness, no two game drives are ever the same. Trackers sit up at the front of the Land Rover looking for fresh animal tracks, while rangers drive with astonishing skill into ravines and through thicket in pursuit of elusive animals, simultaneously wowing guests with their outstanding knowledge and unforgettable stories.
Many of the rangers and trackers at Londolozi grew up living off the land in these parts and therefore have an unmatched knowledge of both the area and the elements of nature within this wilderness wonderland. Londolozi boasts two of South Africa’s only 17 master trackers, which only adds to the excellence of the team and the experience they are able to deliver.

The birdlife at Londolozi represents a magic of diversity in perpetual motion and offers the visitor an entirely new frontier in wilderness engagement. A wide array of sunbirds seeking nectar from the flowering aloes is winter’s gift to the discerning birder, not to mention the other 450 species which abound in these landscapes. Many fine ornithologist guides reside at Londolozi.
