What to Expect
Matumi is situated in the private Elephant Point Estate on the southwestern edge of the world-renowned Kruger National Park.
Matumi Lodge 11 can accommodate 4 guests comfortably. The two spacious air-conditioned bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom and a shower/bath under the open sky. Mosquito nets are provided during the rainy season. A private patio facing the Kruger Park invites you to have your morning tea or coffee outside and to enjoy listening to the magic sounds of the bush before you go to bed.
Highlights
Give your family an African safari to remember. The gardens at Matumi are mowed by the resident impala, nyala and warthog while insect control is taken care of by the banded and dwarf mongoose. Monkeys and baboons linger around to find fruit and such from the trees – in other words nature and African wildlife are always around you! Guests arriving at Matumi Lodge will immediately experience what true South African hospitality is all about as they book in at the picturesque reception with its high thatched roof that blends in perfectly with the surrounding landscape. Matumi offers 20 double en-suite rooms with air conditioning or ceiling fans for an affordable family stay in Limpopo. All the buildings have high thatched roofs, which are lovely and cool and keep the hot African heat out.
Matumi also offers open 4 x 4 safari vehicles in a well-known game reserve and the Kruger National Park. No 4 x 4 game drive is the ever the same there’s always plenty of adventures to be experienced. The Panorama Route includes the Blyde River Canyon, Gods Window, Bourkes Luck Potholes, Berlin Falls, Bridal Falls, Mac Mac Falls, The Pinnacle, historical Pilgrims Rest where guests can go and pan for gold and the Echo Caves. Enjoy a Blyde boat cruise or visit the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, the Cheetah Breeding project, Elephant Back safari rides, Jessica the world famous hippo and the silk farm.
